How Does It Work?

PRTG Sensor Triggers Alert

A sensor transitions to Down, Warning or Unusual state. The PRTG Notification Template kicks in.

HTTP Action Triggers Webhook

The HTTP Action in the PRTG Notification Template sends a POST to the Alertalk webhook URL. Sensor name, device name and alert status are automatically transmitted.

Your Phone Rings

Alertalk calls you. The voice message announces the sensor and device name. You are notified within seconds, day or night.

Configurable for all PRTG sensor types and alert states:

How do I get a voice alert when a PRTG sensor goes down? +

Register with Alertalk, upgrade to WebApi plan and get your webhook key. Create a Notification Template in PRTG and define the Alertalk webhook URL as an HTTP Action. See the PRTG integration guide for step-by-step setup.

Which PRTG versions does it work with? +

Works with all PRTG versions that support HTTP Action Notifications. Includes PRTG Network Monitor and PRTG Hosted Monitor.

Does it only call for Down, or Warning state too? +

You can choose which states trigger the Notification Template in PRTG. You can create separate templates for Down, Warning or both, and have different people called for each.

Does it notify when the sensor comes back Up? +

Yes. You can create a separate Recovery Notification Template in PRTG and connect it to the Alertalk webhook. This way you receive voice notifications for both the alarm and its resolution.
